Our denomination, the
Evangelical Free Church,
is an association of over 1,250
autonomous
congregations joined together by common purposes, principles,
and practices.
The word "Evangelical" refers to our
commitment to the authority of Scripture
as being inerrant in
the original writings, and that Scripture is the only safe and
sufficient guide to faith and practice. The word "Evangelical"
also refers to our commitment to outreach. We seek to proclaim
this "Good News" given by God, to meet the needs of man.
The word "Free" has historical
significance. It refers to a declaration of independence from
state interference and from domination by the state churches of Europe.
Our church government became congregational, which means that the final
authority, under the Lord Jesus, resides in each local church rather
than in the denomination itself.

History
Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church actually began in 1954 as the
Pleasant Valley Community Church, in a church building on the corner of
T and TT in Green Lake County. The congregation moved to its
present location on the southwest corner of Green Lake, constructed a
building, and changed its name to the Terrace Shores Community Church,
all in 1962. In 1981, Terrace Shores affiliated with the
Evangelical Free Church of America, and experienced rapid growth for the
next few years. To accommodate the many new people, approximately
half of the congregation started a sister church in Ripon in 1987.
Once again the congregation saw growth and in 1998 a sister church was
planted in Montello.
If you have no church home, we invite you to visit with us and become
acquainted. We're just an ordinary group of people, seeking to
know better and serve faithfully the Lord God. We welcome you to
come and grow with us.
